Description: Furnace flue is not being vented. The white pvc pipe(top of picture) is the a/c line which went right over the furnace flue. This obstructed the flue from being attached appropriately thus releasing carbon monoxide into the apartment. The apt. complex reengineered the a/c line and the flue is now properly attached.

Description: Sanitation Maintenance. Deedholder was living in the house for 10 years with no utilities. We only had access to 2 rooms because of the amount of garage in the house. There was no access to a kitchen or bathroom. He was using plastic bottles to urinate in and feces was found in plastic grocery bags throughout the 2 rooms.

Description: While investigating a gasoline spill in the crawl space of a duplex that was causing headaches for complainants, we tried to detect an odor from the window well of the complainants' unit. Finding nothing, we went to the neighbors’ side to see if the smell would be detectable from the other window well. We detected no odor, but instead were greeted by two enormous catfish heads grinning at us from us from under the deck!

Description: Sanitation Maintenance. The deedholders didn't have access to their bathroom due to hoarding and necessary repairs. They “made” a shower in an unfinished basement. In the top left corner of the picture you can see a shower head hanging from the ceiling. The basement walls are brick, there is no drain or any type of ventilation. They placed a plastic pallet on the floor of crushed bricks, and a piece of board along the wall for a shower surround.

Description: This home was a puppy mill. There were 2 individuals living in the home along with approximately 35 dogs. This floor is covered in feces. You can see where the ceramic tile remains but the dark area is subfloor. They have removed the carpet probably due to urine and feces. Notice the dogs have created a door for themselves in the door.
